Baked Cabbage

Ingredients

  • 1 medium head of cabbage (5 cups sliced
  • 4 TBSP butter
  • ½ cup water
  • ¼ tsp salt (I use sea salt)
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp sugar
  • Good pinch red pepper flakes

Instructions

  • Wash and slice cabbage in half, then into strips.  Place in 2 qt baking dish. Cut the butter in  4 pieces and place around top of cabbage.  Pour in the water and sprinkle with seasonings.  No need to stir.  Cover with tin foil and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.  Remove tin foil and bake uncovered for additional 15 minutes or desired tenderness.  I like mine to get a little crispy on top before I pull it out.
