Ingredients
- 2½ pkgs dry yeast
- 3 cups warm water
- 1 Tbsp salt
- ¾ cup sugar
- 1 egg, beaten
- ½ cup shortening
- all purpose flour to make stiff dough, approximately 8 cups
Instructions
- Dissolve yeast in warm water. Add sugar, salt, shortening and part of flour. Beat well! Add egg and then gradually add flour while mixing well until you have a stiff dough. Knead on floured board until elastic. Place in greased bowl and let to rise until doubled. Separate into 3 loaf pan or pinch into rolls. Let rise until doubled. Bake at 350° about 20 to 25 minutes until golden brown.
